Client Loyalty in Real Estate matters - what were you asked to sign?


Let us talk loyalty for a moment.  I have been privileged to exparte communications that show the others in this industries true colors - The high pressure fast talking Real Estate Agents that seemingly are going to need to make their mortgage or car payment, and you are their prey.

I have heard legend when you are just wanting information about Real Estate and your general situation, of paperwork needing to be signed and deposits to be made.  They call this “loyalty”?  

When confronted about the “why’s” - it is about loyalty and if I am going to give information, then you need to be loyal.  I think there is a part of me that I have locked away a long time ago that could have a slight grasp on this approach.

How about this - you call or come in for information - and I give it.  Everything, including the “kitchen sink”.

No obligation, no signatures, no photos, fingerprints, blood typing, nothing but you asking and me producing.  

I see it like this - You did your part by the calling, e-mailing, texting, filling out some form, asking for the information, or wanting clarification.  

Then it is our turn - I get you the answers to your questions, the information about the Foreclosures, the value for your home, the available properties, the search portal access codes, the paperwork to home stead your home, the information required to lower your property taxes…  (take careful notice, there are some of these requests that we could not potentially make any commission from - But we give the information freely and without any signatures or a standing showing of loyality from the “client”.

Then it is your turn once again.  I give you the information and you are on your way to make a decision if it has to do with you seeking Real Estate Representation as a Buyer or Seller.

Do you get harassed by anyone on our team - No

Do you get a follow up call to make sure you received and understand the information - Of course

Do you get another call? - No - Not meant to offend - but I know when you are ready you will contact us - and if you decide we weren’t a good fit - then that is great as well.  I ascribe to the school that when you are buying a chunk of Real Estate that you need to get along with whom you eventually utilize to represent you.  

I also am of the school that you want your own representative and never want to call off signs - attempting to get something for less than others - (this does not happen and is a reason people get stepped on in this Industry.  Remember who’s has the Listing Agent’s allegiance - and who has the “signed” in front of God and everyone, the contract… - THE SELLER

Real Estate is all about the “Truth in all we say and do”


Charlatans, non hackers, part timers, and those out there are are looking to make a fast buck.  Real Estate is not for you.  In order to turn a fast dollar in the Real Estate Industry you would have to step on another for your own selfish - personal gain.

The i’s would not be dotted and the t’s would not be crossed as they should be.  The agent would not take their time in finding out what your needs really are, by their assessment of your verbal and non verbal indications.  They would not care to look forward to the next five years to make sure that what you are doing now will not have a severe negative impact.

Where do you go to find someone that will do this for you?  When you are speaking with a prospective agent over the telephone, give it a test, is it the best time to buy real estate?  Will you meet me at a home I saw for sale?  Do you have a “real” office equipped with a door?  Are you a Part time Agent - Does your family depend on you succeeding in Real Estate as the primary means of support?

These questions, although they don’t appear to have anything to do with Real Estate and you choosing wisely - They have everything to do with those topics.  You want to make sure you hire a Business Person that is dug in deeper than others in their field with regard to the service you seek.  You want the subject matter expert in the Real Estate field and then you want then to take the time with you and explain their services and brain storm your goals.

Paris always likes to say when people call her to run out and show them a property that they had just drove by, “You are not buying a pair of shoes”, “so I am not going to treat this phone call as if I am going to tell you that we have one size 7 left in the patent leather…”

There are a lot of agents that will show up for callers, callers they have never met, and open the home for them.  I don’t play risky with my clients hard earned monies - and I don’t play risky with my or my teams health.  Who knows who this caller is and no commission in the world is worth my rolling those dice.

Furthermore, you need to get the entire story about how this Real Estate thing works.  I know we don’t loan money, we don’t do loans, but we are extremely knowledgeable about how they work and what you need to watch out for to keep safe.  If you have bought or sold, let us say 5 homes to this point, you might consider yourself an expert.  However, it is always refreshing to speak with someone that is also an expert and closes that amount of homes on a weekly basis.  We both might learn something from one another.

Don’t forget as a buyer of Real Estate, you don’t pay our commission.  Our commission is always paid by the Seller, whether the seller is a bank, private person, corporation, or another player, you don’t pay for us.  So you might as well get the best and never settle.  Also, you would be surprised how many of the “thieving” agents have paperwork drawn up to get an additional commission from a buyer.  Paris and I have heard many stories in our office during our orientation meetings with potential sellers and buyers about how they paid an additional commission to the agent that represented them.   Don’t get caught in that trap.

Do your on-line diligence, make sure your agent is not “secret” that they take each and every asset that they are going to sell in the face of everyone - and not just trying, but selling that seller’s home with all of their might.  Also make sure that your agent has resources and a presence in the WWW - That is where we are going to connect with others in this industry and where we are going to get you the best information about what is out there for sale.  We want to make sure that you have all of the facts, from verifiable sources within Real Estate and some that are not - So go to our site and see how many resources you can find that we have explaining how the process works and what a success our clients have made The Paris911 Team at RE/MAX of Santa Clarita.

I listen and speak on the phone all day long - I talk with a multitude of buyers, sellers, current clients, prospective clients, past clients, agents and vendors.  I have become very fond of SKYPE, not because of the very inexpensive price tag - but how it works with older version of the Mozilla Web Browser.  All of the numbers on the page that is displayed is bubbled - so they become click able - I am always on the phone - and because Walmart and SKYPE joined forces to sell the hardware associated with this product - they have some of the best deals around when it comes to making SKYPE your main line.

Digress?  Yes, but of course - however by me sharing with you some of the in’s and out’s of how we work and are not only Relational based - But Technology Based as well, you can see that we are “ABOVE THE CROWD” and offer something that is heads and tails above the others in the Real Estate buyer and seller Counseling Fields.

Back to the RSS feeds - there are several places you can pick up information on the Foreclosures, Distressed properties, Real Estate Market Happenings, HUMOR, and how we are bringing the Relationship, Technology and Real Estate together by The Paris911 Business Model.  Also how a Good Full-Time - Full-Service Real Estate Broker will make you more money over the long term than any discount company you can find.  There is a lot more to selling Real Estate and getting the most for our Sellers and the Deepest Discounts for Our Buyers than discounting costs, cutting corners, and crappy customer service.  You hire us to do a job for you - then we do it.  We hunt without end - never ceasing negotiation - make sure if you are a seller, we have all of the loose ends tied up at the very moment the contract indicates it should be - If you are a buyer, making sure that you have every right and are so well protected that if you have a change of mind or heart, we are capable to getting you out unmarred.  We do these things very well and I talk about them around the WWW.

Tae Ryong Tae Kwon Do in Santa Clarita Valley - Belt Testing


Tae Ryong Tae Kwon Do School, the Santa Clarita Valley Branch held its Belt Testing over the weekend at Valencia California High School - Home of the Vikings.

It was a huge event and there were over 75 students that participated in the promotional test held under the supervision of Master Moore.  There were approximately 7 tables where the belts were kept just out of reach of the students that were testing.

Behind each one of those tables were three other masters that were evaluating the students making sure they pack the gear to advance in rank.

The entire event was something just short of spectacular and if your children, or yourself are not involved in this type of “life skill” building curriculum then you might want to reevaluate your thought process.  This is not the Tae Kwon Do in which I was raised, with the constant Bamboo Caining and with all of the Force used to teach.

I am impressed with the curriculum and presentation by Master Moore under the indirect supervision of Master Shin - He is extremely wonderful and you can see this by the “standing room” only class sizes.

How about a month for free?  You get a uniform - Belt and one month for free.  Awesome right?  It is something that you will not regret.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department goes Green!!!


The City of Santa Clarita is patrolled and protected by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  Amongst all of the residences you also have a huge amount of Fire Department and Police Department personnel living amongst the non-oath taker community.  So we have a pretty substantial residency that does not encourage predatory “capering”.

The newest move by the Local Law Enforcement Entity is the purchase and putting into service of two T3 Series Motion three wheel electric vehicles - Check these out and if you are a frequenter of the Paseo’s or other non-street trails where you bike, ride or walk - you might have a chance to greet a deputy on one of these “Green Machines”.

Oh, they happen to go 25mph - so the out running thing might be out of the question, unless you are Carl Lewis - and that would only be for a short time and a couple of miles per hour short.

Social Networking with RE/MAX and Paris911


Nothing beats the in person and face to face contact that Paris and I have on a daily basis with our Business of Selling Real Estate.  We routinely set up meetings at our offices located at RE/MAX of Santa Clarita, 25101 The Old road, Santa Clarita CA, 91381.  Due to these being an almost daily occurrence, we have met some of the most fantastic people, families, individuals, a huge variation from all walks of life, we then have helped them purchase, sell or do both related to a Real Estate venue.

There are some that have said that having these meetings are a waste of time and the less time you can spend with a client makes you more available to work with others.  We sternly disagree - We want to meet so we can understand what our clients goals are.  In fact most of those that come to seek our advice, education, and help do not have a written out goal.  So we make that happen.  We then take it a step further and figure out, together, how to best accomplish the written word.

We have then solved the riddle and make it so that we not only have a client, but a relationship that can push through most adversity.  It takes time, but I would not expect someone to trust me with Real Estate at first glance.  I would want them to watch me perform in the trenches before giving me that much authority and control over some of the most money they will ever spend.

Where does that leave The Paris911 Team at RE/MAX of Santa Clarita.  Top five last meeting that was held.  Not too shabby, but we have our clients to thank for that.  Furthermore, GOD is first and foremost.  Drop us a line to let us know your availability and we will set it up for you.

REO Agents in Santa Clarita at RE/MAX - Handling the Banks Assets


We have just posted a couple of posts related to the handling of Banks assets by The Paris911 Team at RE/MAX of Santa Clarita.  There is a lot of good coming out of this market - You just have to look more closely than usual.  I am not at all discounting all of the pain and suffering, but there are some out there that are getting the relief that they deserve from the “revitalization” plan and the banks becoming more flexible with re-thinking their current loans.

Here are the most recent posts focused toward Banks and Investment companies needing qualified Agents and a Full-Time Team to handle their assets - REO/Foreclosure Properties in the Santa Clarita Valley and in the other areas we are full Board of Realtors members in and around Los Angeles and Ventura County.

We want you to call us if you have any questions about what your banks can do for you.  Our advice is free and we are very giving.  There are a lot of cases when people meet with us in our offices where it is decided that they should not sell their home but try to work it out with the bank.  There are also a lot of cases when it is decided that now is not a good time to purchase or enter the Real Estate market.  So it is not about closing, it is about the Relationships that we can acquire and grow. 

Gee - who would have thought - someone that is thinking about the Relationship and not the Commission…
